Aaliya Siddiqui took to Instagram to respond to a First Information Report (FIR) filed against her by husband-actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s mother Mehrunisa Siddiqui. According to Versova Police, Aaliya had an argument with Nawazuddin’s mother. Aaliyah described the FIR photocopy she shared on social media as’shocking.’
“Shocking.. my genuine criminal complaints against my husband go unattended by Police,” Aaliya, also known as Zainab, wrote. However, I enter my Husband’s house, and within a few hours, a criminal complaint / FIR is filed against me. Will I ever get justice in this manner?”
According to news reporters Zainab is Nawazuddin’s second wife. Over a decade ago, Nawazuddin married Aaliya aka Anjana Kishor Pandey aka Zainab. Yaani Siddiqui and Shora Siddiqui are the couple’s children.
According to police, Nawazuddin, his mother, and Aaliya are involved in a property dispute. A case has been filed under Indian Penal Code sections 452, 323, 504 and 506. ANI stated on Twitter, “Mehrunisa Siddiqui, the mother of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has filed a FIR against the actor’s wife Zainab. Police in Versova have summoned her for questioning. Versova Police claim that Zainab had an argument with Nawazuddin’s mother.”
Aaliya had previously served Nawazuddin with a divorce petition. She claimed she was subjected to domestic violence, which was the primary reason for her request for divorce. She also claimed that Shamas Siddiqui, Nawazuddin’s brother, assaulted her. She later reverses her decision to divorce Nawazuddin in 2021.
Nawazuddin was last seen in 2022 as the antagonist in Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria’s Heropanti 2. While the film bombed at the box office, he has several projects in the works.
This includes his much-anticipated film, Haddi, in which he will play a transwoman. The film will be released this year and directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma, who also co-wrote it with Adamya Bhalla. Tiku Weds Sheru, produced by Kangana Ranaut, also stars Nawazuddin alongside Avneet Kaur.
