On Tuesday evening, Rakhi Sawant revealed that her estranged husband Adil Khan Durrani had asked her to ‘patch up’ with him after he was detained by the Mumbai Police. Rakhi’s brother Rakesh Sawant told the media that his brother-in-law beat up his sister the day their mother Jaya Bheda died.
Rakhi told news reporters hours after Adil was apprehended, ” “An investigation is underway. His phone and statement have been turned over to the cops. ‘Mere saath patch up karle,’ andar Adil keh raha hai (Adil is telling me inside, ‘Patchup with me’). Paer jod raha hai. Main maaf nahi karungi (He, too, is folding his hands. But I’m not going to forgive him).”
Rakesh stated in another video, “He (Adil) severely abused her (Rakhi) on the day our mother died. He said there is nothing like that when we were talking about mom at night. He thrashed her. Everyone, including our uncles and aunts, was furious. We asked Rakhi to accompany us to Cooper. We took her there and had all of her medical tests done. When you see the number of scars on her body, you will start crying. My uncle and I spoke to him the day he raised his hands, as did the rest of the family.”
“Bohut hi badtameeze se baat ki thi usne ki humara personal mamla hai” (He spoke very rudely). ‘It’s personal,’ he said. It’s not personal that he raised his hands on the housekeeper’s daughter. He acted like a beast. When he came to beat her this morning, the sections imposed on him of stealing, beating up, dowry…,” he added.
Rakhi stated to the media on Tuesday morning, “Mujhe maarne ghar pe abhi bhi subah aaya tha. Maine ghar se turant police phone kiya. Patching up haton se khana khilane se nahi hota. He did not come in the morning to beat me up. I called the cops right away. Just because I fed him doesn’t mean I reconciled with him. My mother will not return).”
Adil was arrested and taken to the Oshiwara police station, according to reports, after Rakhi filed a FIR against him under IPC Sections 406 and 420. Rakhi revealed last month that she would marry Adil in 2022.
