Thursday, Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji showed the first look of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan in his next movie. The role of Guru is played by Big B in the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt epic.
By showing a poster of Amitabh Bachchan, Ayan gave a hint about what his character would be like. Ayan also thanked the famous actor in the caption on Instagram for agreeing to be in Brahmastra and “bringing his magnificent energy to our Guru.”
Ayan said that Amitabh was “the best actor in Indian movies.” His full caption said, “GURU (and his Prabhstra – The Sword of Light). Since 2016, when I first met with Mr. Bachchan to talk about Brahmstra, he has always said that he loved the idea of this project, which is to protect ancient Indian texts in India today.
Ayan added, “This mix of ancient Indian spirituality and modern India really appealed to him, and to my great luck, he agreed to be a part of Brahmstra… And changed the way our movie turned out by giving his wonderful energy to our Guru and making him full of grace, wit, and wisdom.
