Bobby Jung, the composer of BTS, was sentenced to one year in prison for illegally filming a nude video and faces a five-year ban

Bobby Jung, who worked with BTS and TOMORROW x TOGETHER, was sentenced to one year in prison for illegally filming a nude video without consent. Due to ‘insufficient evidence,’ the court also found him not guilty of assault charges.

According to Allkpop, Korean music producer and singer Bobby Jung, also known as Jung Dae Wook of the popular musical duo Autumn Vacation, has been sentenced to one year in prison. He was being investigated for allegedly filming a woman while she was naked without her consent. According to reports, the court also sentenced Bobby to 40 hours of sexual violence education and a 5-year ban from working in any facility that serves children, youths, or disabled people on Wednesday.

Bobby has contributed to a number of songs. Among the Korean entertainment industry’s K-pop idols, he has collaborated with BTS and TOMORROW x TOGETHER. Among their hits are I’m Fine, Filter, Home, 134340, Dream Glow, Way Home, Roller Coaster, and 20 cm.

According to the leading website, the Seoul Western District Court said during the final verdict on the case, “Jung filmed victim ‘A’s body illegally without consent, and the victim is experiencing significant mental shock and humiliation. While the victim’s side is requesting harsh punishment for Jung’s actions, Jung did not exhibit a reflective attitude.”

“Considering that Jung did not distribute this footage to anyone and that he has no similar offences, Jung is hereby sentenced to one year in prison,” the court added. According to reports, the singer was also found not guilty of assaulting ‘A’ due to ‘insufficient evidence.’

Bobby was accused of illegally filming and sexually assaulting someone in 2020. The accuser’s family members came out in public, causing a firestorm on the internet. Many fans reacted angrily to the accusations, even calling for a ban on his work. Many of them curated a list of songs, became involved with the singer, and urged others to boycott them.

Autumn Vacation’s concert was also cancelled as a result of the situation. Following the uproar caused by the scandal, Bobby later deactivated his Instagram account.

According to news, the victim committed suicide, leaving a note that said, “I am suffering because of someone.” Prosecutors reportedly dismissed the case earlier this year.
