Eight films and more than a decade later, Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth says Thor has evolved from being a “obvious” comic book superhero to a character who embodies many of his personality traits.
Since Thor’s origin story in 2011, he has played the Marvel superhero in The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
The 38-year-old actor believes that while making the first few films, the makers had to rely heavily on set “rules and guidelines,” but that changed when director Taika Waititi was brought on board to direct Ragnarok.
“There is obviously a familiarity, but he has changed as dramatically as I have over the years.” “And that’s been kind of fun as the character’s evolution and my opinions sort of melded in and crossed paths,” the actor said at Thor: Love and Thunder’s global press conference.
