For a long time, TV actress Divya Agarwal has been in the news. While she was previously embroiled in controversy due to her personal life and previous relationship with Varun Sood, it is now her open letter to Anurag Kashyap requesting work that has her in the spotlight. The actress was recently trolled in response to an Instagram post, but Kashyap reached out to her.
Divya previously had a long-publicized relationship with Varun Sood. However, the duo called it quits in January of last year and announced it on Instagram. Despite being on good terms, they recently became involved in an online feud that was widely discussed among netizens.
Divya Agarwal posted a video on Instagram earlier this week asking for work. The actress stated that she is not afraid to ask for a job and mentioned director Anurag Kashyap. “This is an open letter to @anuragkashyap10,” she wrote. Call me a moron, but I’m going to say it anyway! Mangungi kaam sabke saamne mujhe koi sharam nahi! #optimistic #grateful.” While she was heavily trolled for the post, it appears to have been successful in attracting the director’s attention.
Divya Agarwal revealed in an interview with India Today that Kashyap contacted her. Anurag Kashyap did not comment on her post, but instead responded in person, according to the Bigg Boss OTT winner. “He said he is overwhelmed,” she added. I apologised for any inconvenience caused by this entire drama. But he told me that he is overwhelmed and that if he has any auditions for me, he will contact me.”
Divya revealed that Kashyap’s text said, “‘Humbled by this. I’ll contact you for future projects.” When asked why she specifically asked Kashyap for work, Divya revealed that she had attended many of the director’s workshops at Prithvi Theatre.
Divya was the runner-up on MTV Splitsvilla 10 in 2017 before winning Bigg Boss OTT. She has also appeared in Ragini MMS: Returns, Cartel, and Abhay.
Anurag Kashyap’s romantic film Almost Pyaar, starring DJ Mohabbat, was released last month. It premiered in theatres on February 3rd, starring Karan Mehta and Alaya F. Vicky Kaushal also made an appearance in the film.
In one of his interviews, the filmmaker had opened up about his frame of mind while making a film. He told ANI, “I am not even trying to create what half of the people are making in the race to break each other’s box office records. I am not a part of that race. My responsibility is to tell my story and make the least loss.”
