Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter made their Bollywood debut together in 2018 with Dhadak, and they are now competing at the box office on Friday. When asked about him, Janhvi stated that “a part of us will always root for each other.” She went on to say that they wished each other luck with their upcoming film releases.
Milli, Janhvi’s thriller, was released in theatres on Friday, while Phone Bhoot, starring Ishaan, was released the same day. Siddhant Chaturvedi and Katrina Kaif also play lead roles in Phone Bhoot. Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa star in the lead roles in Mili.
When asked about Ishaan, Janhvi told News18, “He recently messaged me, wishing me luck with Mili, and I replied, ‘Right back at you!’ I believe there was a competitive undercurrent. I’m not serious! We truly wish each other the best dil se (from the heart). We began our journey together. We will always have a soft spot for one another.”
She also mentioned his new film, saying, “I’ve seen the trailer, and it appears to be a lot of fun. We had spoken briefly before he signed the film. I’ve heard a little bit about it, and it sounds like an intriguing premise.”
Janhvi and Ishaan were rumoured to be dating while filming their debut. Later on, they were frequently seen together on various outings.
Mili is the Hindi remake of Helen, a 2019 Malayalam film directed by Mathukutty Xavier, who also directed the original. Her father, Boney Kapoor, produced the film, and this is their first collaboration.
Janhvi previously told PTI, “The only difference on Mili was that I didn’t have to worry about the producer thinking I was arrogant.” I didn’t have to think about it because my father is the producer here. He knows more about me than anyone else. It felt good to be able to tell him exactly what I thought.”
