Kangana Ranaut appeared before the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in suburban Andheri on Monday in connection with a defamation complaint filed against her by Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar, according to PTI. This is her third court appearance since Akhtar filed the complaint against her in November 2020.
In his complaint, Akhtar (76) claimed that Ranaut made defamatory statements about him in a television interview, which harmed his reputation. Following the alleged suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020, Akhtar claimed that Ranaut dragged his name during a TV interview while referring to a ‘coterie’ in Bollywood.
Kangana will next be seen in the political drama ‘Emergency,’ according to her schedule. Kangana will play late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in a political drama that she will also produce. According to reports, the film will include the Emergency and Operation Blue Star. The actress will also direct and produce the film.
She also has a role in ‘Tejas,’ in which she will play an Indian Air Force pilot. Team Tejas previously stated that the film will be released in theatres on Dussehra, October 5, 2022. The story is intended to inspire and make one proud of our brave soldiers who face numerous challenges in order to keep our country safe.
Kangana has also announced ‘Sita: The Incarnation’ as one of her upcoming projects, in which she will play the goddess Sita. Alaukik Desai will direct the upcoming mythological film, which will reportedly be released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Aside from these, the Dhaakad actress is also working on ‘Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda.’ Kangana and producer Kamal Jain will collaborate to bring the franchise back after Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi in 2019. Didda was the Queen of Kashmir who defeated Mehmood Ghaznavi twice in battle. Her one leg was paralysed by polio, but she was one of the greatest warriors.
