Kangana Ranaut on mortgaging her entire estate for an emergency: 'I came to Mumbai with 500, so if I'm completely ruined...'

Kangana Ranaut recently wrapped production on her highly anticipated film Emergency, which she celebrated with a party on Wednesday. Kangana Ranaut will play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the period drama, which she will direct. As she interacted with media outside the Emergency wrap-up party, the actor was asked about mortgaging all of her property to complete the show.

Kangana announced on January 21 that she was wrapping up the shoot of Emergency as an actor, and she revealed in an Instagram post that the journey ‘wasn’t a smooth sailing ride’. Kangana had previously stated that she had to’mortgage all her properties, every single thing that she owned’ to complete the film’s schedule in various parts of the country, including Assam, and that she had to’mortgage all her properties, every single thing that she owned’ to make the film, which she is also producing.

Videos of Kangana discussing her mortgage were shared on news reporters and fan pages. Kangana told reporters, “Main jo kam than leti hoon usko anjam de kar hi rahti hoon. On the contrary, ye koi badi baat nahi hai. Ek minute mein main koi bhi decision lena tha ki shooting ke time pe banks ke chakkar lagana, evaluations karni, phir humari shooting bhi ruk rahi thi. Yeh mere liye thoda sa hectic tha, lekin koi bhi cheese daun pe lagana mere liye bohut bada koi decision nahi hai (If I set out to do something, I always complete it.

The actor recalled her early days in Bollywood, saying she didn’t care about ‘possessions’ and was willing to start over if she lost all her property after the release of Emergency. Kangana stated: “Main iss sheher mein 500 leke ayi thi aur main phir se agar puri tarha se barbad ho jati hoon, main phirse pure tarha se khadi hoon, mujh mein itna confidence aur itni himmat hai. I came to Mumbai with only 500, so even if I am completely ruined, I have the confidence and strength to stand on my feat once more. Possessions mean nothing to me).”

Kangana made her film debut in Gangster (2006). Anurag Basu directed the romantic thriller, which also starred Emraan Hashmi. Kangana will be seen in the upcoming film Emergency. Anupam Kher will play the late Jayaprakash Narayan, who led the opposition to Indira Gandhi in the mid-1970s, in the upcoming film. Mahima Chaudhry will play Indira Gandhi’s confidante and friend Pupul Jayakar. Vishak Nair, Satish Kaushik, Milind Soman, and Shreyas Talpade also play important roles in the film.
