Kate Moss, a British model, testified briefly at the trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard for libel. She denied that the actor pushed her down a flight of stairs when they were dating in the 1990s. Deadline says that Moss instead said that Depp helped her. She said that they were staying at the GoldenEye resort in Jamaica at the time, and that during a rainstorm, “I hurt my back when I left the room and slid down the stairs. Because I hurt, I screamed.”
Moss said that Depp helped her and carried her back to her room so that she could get medical care. “He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any kind of stairs,” she testified via video link from Gloucester, England.
After Heard said something about the supermodel, Depp’s lawyers called her as a witness. Moss said he and Depp were together from 1994 to 1998.
The news source said that Heard’s team chose not to cross-examine Moss. She said in court earlier this month that Depp hit her sister Whitney near a flight of stairs during an argument in March 2015.
Heard said, “When I think of Kate Moss and stairs, I immediately think of stairs,” and then she punched Depp to get him to stop. According to Deadline, when the “Aquaman” actor mentioned Moss, Depp’s lawyer gave a fist bump to another lawyer and Depp smiled because this was a clear chance to bring Moss into the case as a rebuttal witness.
