“I was disappointed when the film ended,” Naga Chaitanya said
The makers of Laal Singh Chaddha have released a behind-the-scenes video from the film, which follows Naga Chaitanya’s journey, how he prepared for his character Balaraju, and his experience working on the film.
“I was sad when the film was over,” Naga Chaitanya said, adding that he “did not want to move on” from the project. Naga Chaitanya revealed in the video that his character’s appearance was inspired by his grandfather.
“It has a connection with my grandfather, so it’s very magical,” Naga Chaitanya explained. “I used a mouthpiece and a moustache to make my look more authentic,” the actor explained.
In another segment of the video, Aamir Khan, the star and producer of Laal Singh Chaddha, said of working with Naga Chaitanya, “I am really grateful to Chay for doing this film.” As a producer, you should be as comfortable as possible (it gave me a sense of comfort to work with him). He works well with others.
He is extremely alert as an actor. He does it completely focused and completely immersed in the film.” Aamir also stated that he called Naga Chaitanya’s parents and told them to be “proud” of their son.
The caption on the Aamir Khan Productions video read: “A best friend that everyone wishes they had! Meet Laal’s loving and innocent friend Balaraju from Bodipalem… Check out Chaitanya Akkineni’s adorable and heartfelt journey as Bala in Laal Singh Chaddha, which opens in theatres worldwide on August 11th.”
A poster of Naga Chaitanya from the film was shared on social media last week. The post’s caption read: “Introducing Chaitanya Akkineni as Balaraju from Bodipalem! Yuva Samrat, we adore you.”
Advait Chandan directed Laal Singh Chaddha, a Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ classic Forrest Gump. Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures are co-producing Laal Singh Chaddha. Aamir Khan will appear in Laal Singh Chaddha alongside his 3 Idiots co-stars Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh.
Forrest Gump told the story of a man (Tom Hanks) who accomplishes extraordinary feats in his life. His only goal, however, is to spend time with his childhood sweetheart Jenny. At the box office, Laal Singh Chaddha will compete with Aanand L Rai’s Raksha Bandhan. Both films are set to be released on August 11.
