Zee5 released the trailer for its upcoming spy thriller Mukhbir on Monday afternoon. The show is based on true events and tells the story of an Indian spy embedded in Pakistan in the 1960s. Fans have reacted positively to the trailer, with many crossing their fingers for a gripping thriller.
Adil Hussain (who plays real-life IPS officer Ramkishore Negi) informs Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on the India-Pakistan border in 1965, months before the war begins, that Pakistan’s acquisition of Patton Tanks is bad news for India. When the Prime Minister inquires about the intelligence reports, he is informed that India has no agents in Pakistan to investigate all of this. We are then introduced to intelligence officer Bhagat (Prakash Raj), who reveals that he has a “asset” that can help the country.
Enter Kamran Baksh (Zain), a small-time thief and spy assigned to go undercover to Pakistan to act as India’s mukhbir in the proxy war. In Pakistan, Kamran balances espionage with romance, but work soon takes precedence. Kamran must discover what Pakistan is planning before it is too late for India to intervene. The real challenge is not to become engrossed in the process as well.
