Vaibhavi Merchant spoke out about the recent controversy surrounding her song Besharam Rang. ‘Nobody goes to the beach dressed up,’ she said. She also stated that because the song is about’sensuality,’ it was natural for Shah Rukh Khan to enjoy being’shirtless’ on the beach. She spoke at length about the beach party track in a YRF video, giving her thoughts on the song.
Since the release of Besharam Rang, the first official track from Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Pathaan, the music video has received a lot of backlash for depicting Deepika in a saffron bikini. Many politicians have called the song indecent, and some have even suggested that the costumes worn by the two prominent actors have a communal theme.
“I was very clear that I did not want it to look like a typical Hindi film beach party song,” Vaibhavi said in a video shared by YRF on their YouTube account. The song is very slow. Adaa’s style is laid back (moves). It does not have ki ab steps daalun iss mai, nor does it have bohot saare movements daalun iss mai. (It wasn’t about adding steps and movements. Logically, if the hero meets the girl, there must be chemistry, chemistry developing. He can’t just show up at the venue and start dancing.
