During the promotion of his upcoming film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar on Indian Idol, Ranbir Kapoor was addressed as ‘uncle,’ to which the actor joked that he should not be addressed as such. When asked if his beard hurts Raha, he revealed that it does.
Ranbir Kapoor has been working hard to promote Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar. The actor appeared on Indian Idol and discussed his daughter Raha Kapoor, who was born in November of last year. When a contestant addressed him as ‘Ranbir Uncle,’ the actor politely declined. Ranbir also expressed his concern about whether Raha will recognise him without the beard.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot in April of last year at their Mumbai home Vastu. At the intimate ceremony, the couple was joined by close friends from Bollywood and their family, including their mothers Neetu Kapoor and Soni Razdan. Alia announced the birth of their daughter on November 6, 2022 in an Instagram post. Ranbir recently revealed that since Raha entered his life, he hasn’t felt like going out for work and prefers to spend his time with her.
The actor is seen interacting with the contestants in a recent promo released by the show’s producers and shared by Ranbir’s social media fan pages. When a young contestant addressed the actor as “Ranbir Uncle,” he responded, “Uncle mat bula mujhe yaar!”
(Please don’t call me uncle!) and told him to call him RK instead. “RK bol de!” he exclaimed to the young contestant, making everyone laugh. When the same contestant asked if his massive beard causes any problems for Raha, the actor couldn’t help but laugh.
“Kya bolu main…ki ha tu sahi bol rahi he, ab ye main ek film kar raha hu doosri jiske liye mujhe badhani pari daari… but jabse meri beti Raha paida hui he usne sirf ye You know what I mean… ankhon mein ankhein daal ke muskura rahi he.
Mera yahi maanna he ki usne aankhon ke neeche abhi tak dekha nahi he mujhe dar toh he ki agar woh mujhe pehchanegi nahi toh mera dil toot jayega. (What do I say… yes, you are correct, I grew a beard for my next film, but my concern is not that she will be hurt by my beard, but whether she will recognise me without it! Until now, she has locked her gaze on me and smiled, but she hasn’t looked below that. She’ll get used to it, but I’m afraid if she doesn’t recognise me later, it will break my heart.)
Ranbir will next be seen in Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar, which will be released on March 8 alongside Shraddha Kapoor. His upcoming projects include Rashmika Mandanna’s Animal and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The film, which will be released later this year, also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.
