Karan Johar’s 50th birthday party was notable because it brought together everyone who is anyone in Bollywood, which doesn’t usually happen. Because of this, people who used to be different from each other or were in relationships with each other ran into each other. But one post on social media by Preity Zinta was especially heavy. Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were in the movie.
The movie Kal Ho Naa Ho is what brings together Kareena, Rani, Preity, and Karan. Kareena was first offered the role, but she wouldn’t answer Karan’s calls. Preity got the part in the end, and her performance was praised. Because of this, Kareena and Karan didn’t talk to each other for more than a year. In the same way, Rani was very hurt when Karan didn’t ask her to be in the movie, and she had to find out from someone else. She said that she cried because she felt like someone had hurt her.
In 2004, Kareena and Rani were guests on Koffee with Karan, where they talked about all of these problems. Karan said he was sorry for how he treated Rani, and Kareena said she was sorry she didn’t take him up on his offer. He or she also asked the two actors how they knew Preity.
Rani said, “To be honest, Karan, it was never a friendship. We had a great time working together. When Preity and I work together, we get along very well. This was especially true when we did Chori Chori Chupke Chupke and Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega. We were both just getting started at the time. I don’t know why, but Preity and Rani were always put together. We both did that Piya Piya.”
She went on, “I think maybe because Preity and I look alike and have the same body language and all, so we look great onscreen together.” When reporters came to the sets, they saw that Preity and I were very comfortable with each other. I think this was blown out of proportion in magazines, which is why we were called Siamese twins. We tried to explain that we aren’t really best friends and don’t hang out together, but no one believed us. But that’s what’s true.”
Karan then showed Kareena and Rani parts of a video where Preity talked about them. Preity thanked Kareena for not being in Kal Ho Naa Ho and said that she only talks to her when Karan is around. She pretty much said what had already been said about her relationship with Rani. But Rani wanted to say something anyway. She said, “I think Preity talks too much, and she should talk less. That’s all I want to say to her during your show. She seems to have something to say about everything. I think she needs to stop doing that.”
Most people think that Karan directed Kal Ho Naa Ho, but it was actually Nikkhil Advani. Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Jaya Bachchan, and other stars were in the movie. Soon, a new season of Koffee with Karan will be available on Disney+ Hotstar.
