Actor Ram Charan’s wife, entrepreneur and philanthropist Upasana Kamineni Konidela, is frequently asked when she and the RRR star will have a child. When asked about starting a family, she shrugs and says that it is her and her husband’s “personal choice” not to have children. She brought it up again recently in a conversation with spiritual leader Sadhguru, asking him why people “find it their duty to question her ability to reproduce.”
Sadhguru responded by promising Upasana an award for her decision not to have children. “I have already announced an award for all those young women who are healthy and capable of reproducing but choose not to,” he told her. This is the most important service you can provide right now. If you were a tigress, I would advise you to reproduce because the species is endangered. However, this is not a threatened species. We’re simply too numerous.”
“We’re on our way to 10 billion in the next 30-35 years,” he added. Man is concerned about his carbon footprint, but if his footprint is reduced, there is no need to be concerned about global warming as well. So it’s encouraging to see women who have chosen not to reproduce.”
Upasana joked after hearing what he had to say, “You’re going to get a call from my mother and mother-in-law.”
Previously, when asked about their decision not to have children, the RRR actor stated, “As the son of Mega Star Chiranjeevi, I have the responsibility of making fans happy.” I may deviate from my mission if I start a family. Upasana has a few objectives as well. So we decided not to have children for a few years.”
Ram Charan married Upasana Kamineni Konidela on June 14, 2012, in Hyderabad. In Italy, the couple celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary.
