Sheezan Khan was granted bail in the Tunisha Sharma death case by a Maharashtra court and instructed to submit his passport.

Tunisha Sharma death case: Sheezan Khan, arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of his co-star Tunisha Sharma, was granted bail on Saturday.

Sheezan Khan, who was arrested for allegedly aiding his co-star Tunisha Sharma’s suicide, was granted bail on Saturday. According to a news agency, a Maharashtra court granted bail to the actor in the Tunisha Sharma death case on a bail bond of one lakh and ordered him to surrender his passport. Sheezan was arrested in December of last year and has been in judicial custody since then. “Television actor Sheezan Khan, accused and arrested in television actress Tunisha Sharma’s suicide case granted bail on 1 lakh surety bond by Vasai court, asks Sheezan Khan to submit his passport,” ANI tweeted on Saturday.

Tunisha Sharma was discovered dead on the set of her show Alibaba Dastaan-E-Kabul on December 24, just minutes after she gave a shot and spoke to her ex-boyfriend at the time, Sheezan Khan. When she failed to appear for her shot, her colleagues broke open the bathroom door and discovered her body. Sheezan was arrested on December 24 by Waliv police on charges of abetment to suicide under the Indian Penal Code.

Sheezan Khan was apprehended a day after Tunisha died. Vanita Sharma, her mother, filed a case against him for aiding and abetting suicide. Tunisha and Sheezan reportedly dated last year, and his family claims they had a mutual breakup just days before Tunisha was discovered dead. After his police custody expired on December 31, the Vasai court transferred accused Sheezan to judicial custody for 14 days, which was then extended.

Tunisha’s mother, Vanita, had made allegations against Sheezan, claiming that he used to beat her and force her to convert to Islam. Sheezan’s sister Falaq Naaz, speaking at a press conference, accused Tunisha’s mother of “neglecting” her and claimed that the late actor’s depression was caused by childhood trauma. The press conference was held earlier this year by Sheezan’s sisters Shafaq Naaz and Falaq, as well as his mother Kehekshan Faisi and his lawyer Shailendra Mishra.

Falaq Naaz, Sheezan’s sister, posted a video on Instagram to clarify her statement that Tunisha and Sheezan’s breakup was based on’mutual understanding.’ Tunisha and Sheezan split up a few weeks before she was discovered dead on the set of their TV show.

On Monday, the family of accused Sheezan Khan held a press conference to address allegations made by the family of late actor Tunisha Sharma. During the press conference, it was asked if Tunisha had a breakup with Sheezan before her death. Responding to the allegations, Sheezan’s sister Falaq Naaz has now posted a video on her Instagram account clarifying that the breakup was mutually agreed upon.  

In the video, Falaq said, ‘Breakup hua ya nhi hua, iss ek particular sawaal ko itna ghuma diya, mere bolne ko itna ghuma diya…again mein phir se bol rhi hu ki jab hamari press conference chal rhi thi tabhi humne ye baat clear kar di thi ki breakup ek achhe note pe hua tha..dono ne ye mutual understanding ke saath ye decide kiya tha… ki yes let’s focus on our career first. Yeh bohut early stage he… pehle kaam karte he, acche se show karte he, uske baad…ye Whatsapp ka chat he jo police ke paas as an evidence rakha he.” (Whether or not the breakup occurred, this particular question has been so twisted…

Falaq also stated that the press conference was “chaotic,” with so many reporters questioning them that the statement was exaggerated. She captioned the video as follows: “Just to clear the air, our press conference today was so chaotic that I’m clarifying it here! #justiceforsheezan and #justicefortunishasharma.” Shafaq ended the video by saying, “Remember, galat note pe breakup nhi hua. (Make no mistake, the breakup was not amicable.)” Sheezan’s family members also accused Tunisha’s mother Vinita Sharma of failing to care for her daughter while she was suffering from mental health issues during the press conference.

Tunisha, 20, was discovered dead on the set of her TV show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul on December 24. Tunisha’s mother, Vinita Sharma, then filed a FIR against co-star and ex-boyfriend Sheezan Khan for abetting suicide, and the actor was arrested and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days on Saturday.
