People from all over the world, including those in the entertainment industry, have spoken out against the terrible school shooting in Texas. On social media, stars like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and others called for the US gun lobby to be gotten rid of so that strong steps could be taken to stop mass shootings in the future.

Officials say that an 18-year-old gunman opened fire at a Texas elementary school on Tuesday, killing at least 19 children as he went from classroom to classroom. This was the deadliest school shooting in nearly a decade and the latest gruesome event for a country that has been scarred by a string of massacres. Law enforcement killed the person who did this. Authorities say that two adults were also among the people who died. One of them was a teacher, according to Governor Greg Abbott.

Selena Gomez, a singer, took to Twitter to talk about how upset she was about the deaths. “Today, 18 students were killed in my home state of Texas while they were just trying to go to school. A teacher was killed while doing her job, which is very important but often undervalued. If kids can’t feel safe at school, where can they? It’s so frustrating that I don’t know what else to say. “Those in power need to stop making empty promises and change the laws to stop this from happening again,” she wrote.

Taylor Swift, a singer, also wrote a tweet about the “murders.” “So angry and sad, and so broken by the killings in Uvalde. By Buffalo, Laguna Woods, and a lot of other people. By how we as a country have become used to heartbreak that is hard to understand and hard to bear. “Steve’s words are so true and cut so deep,” she wrote as she shared a video of basketball coach and former player Steve Kerr and talked about the incident in an emotional way.

“It happens, and then life goes on,” Mindy Kaling wrote. Then it keeps happening. And the only thing that changes is that it happens sooner and sooner.” Elijah Woods, who played Legolas in Lord of the Rings, wrote, “My heart goes out to the families and kids of Robb Elementary in Texas. Really terrible.”

Swara Bhasker, an Indian actor who often works in the US, also talked about the killings. “What the hell is going on in the United States?!! This is awful and terrible! It also seems like it could have been stopped, so why don’t gun laws in the US change? Only 10 days after the Buffalo shooting, 14 children were killed in a school. She wrote, “My heart goes out to the parents and families.”

The attack at Robb Elementary School in the Latino town of Uvalde was the deadliest shooting at a U.S. elementary school since a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012. Families still didn’t know where their children were hours after the attack.
