Ranbir Kapoor is getting ready for the release of Shamshera. The actor, who is currently promoting the film, opened up about his physical transformation for the role of Shamshera on Monday.
Known for his lean physique, Kapoor said it was difficult for him to build a worker’s body.
In a video released by YRF, Ranbir Kapoor said in Hindi, “Director Karan Malhotra wanted a worker’s body.” This individual had served time in prison. He literally grew up in it. This was a physically demanding task. I’m a skinny guy. So losing weight is simple for me, but gaining muscle is more difficult. It’s extremely complicated. This whole bodybuilding thing is something that always perplexes me.
Meanwhile, Karan Malhotra stated that Kapoor did an excellent job of gaining muscle weight in order to portray his role authentically.
“My main goal was that when you saw Ranbir on screen, you should physically feel his impact,” the director added.
Shamshera, which also stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in pivotal roles, hits theatres on July 22.
