On Wednesday, popular TV actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee surprised fans by posting photos of herself dressed as a bride on social media. The actor shared several photos from what appeared to be wedding and haldi functions, as well as her mehndi. Vishal Singh and Bhavini Purohit, her friends and co-stars, also shared photos from the festivities, further confusing fans.
On Wednesday, Devoleena took to Instagram Stories to share a series of photos of Vishal applying haldi to her face. One photo showed her wearing a red bridal lehenga and sitting in a car with a face mask on. Her kaleere was featured in a Boomerang video (hand ornaments). She then posted a few photos of her mehndi, followed by a selfie in which she is wearing a mangalsutra.
Many fans were curious if Vishal and Devoleena had married. The commotion was exacerbated when a wedding blog posted some of the photos with the caption, “Here are some heart melting highlights from beautiful couple @devoleena @vishal.singh786 wedding.” Others, however, believe they saw the real groom in the background dressed differently than Vishal. “The groom is not Vishal,” one person commented. “You are not the groom,” another said in response to Vishal’s photo. At the very least, clarify.”
Some fans even believe that Devoleena is only getting married for the sake of a TV show or advertisement. “This is for a new music video or possibly a serial,” one commenter wrote. According to some reports, Devoleena did have a court marriage on Tuesday, which Vishal, Bhavini, and a few other friends attended. However, no mention of the groom is made. These reports have yet to be verified. Devoleena reshared a few posts from the festivities made by Vishal, Bhavini, and Rashmi Singh, but none of the posts had captions or descriptions, confusing fans even more.
Devoleena is best known for her role as Gopi bahu in the 2012-17 soap opera Saath Nibhaaana Saathiya. She has also made appearances on Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto and Laal Ishq. She appeared on the reality show Bigg Boss for three seasons in a row, from 2019 to 22, finishing sixth in Bigg Boss 14. She was last seen earlier this year in the web series First Second Chance.
