Vicky Kaushal and Shehnaaz Gill reunited for her show, Desi Vibes With Shehnaaz Gill, weeks after they posed for photos at a Diwali party and gave each other social media shoutouts. The actors posed for the paparazzi while filming an upcoming episode of the show on Wednesday. A video of their interaction, in which Vicky and Shehnaaz react to her being dubbed ‘Punjab ki Katrina Kaif,’ has gone viral, and fans are loving it.
A paparazzo Instagram account shared a video of Shehnaaz Gill welcoming Vicky Kaushal to her show. A photographer said to the actor-host, “Shehnaaz ji thoda ghabraaye huye lag rahe ho, thoda smile” (you look a little tense, please smile). Before hugging Vicky, Shehnaaz told the paparazzi, “Nahi, Vicky Kaushal kya mere papa hai” (This is Vicky Kaushal, not my father).
While the two were hugging and posing for photos, a paparazzi shouted, ‘Punjab ki Katrina Kaif!’ While Shehnaaz appeared to be uncomfortable being compared to Vicky’s wife, Katrina, in front of the actor, she thanked him and hugged him after he said, “Yeh India ki Shehnaaz Gill hai” (she is India’s Shehnaaz Gill). “Thank you, thank you so much,” Shehnaaz said to Vicky. A fan commented on the video, saying, “Katrina Kaif alag hai (Katrina Kaif is unique), Shehnaaz Gill is one and only… We adore them both.” “I can’t wait for this episode,” said another.
Shehnaaz also shared photos of herself and Vicky from her upcoming chat show on Instagram. They were both dressed in yellow outfits in the photos. “Very rarely do you meet a star who makes you feel like you’re one of them,” she wrote in the caption. Rarely do you get the sense that you’ve known this person for years and consider them family. Rarely, after your second meeting, do you feel as if you know this person as if he is family. Vicky and Shehnaaz first met in October at producer Ramesh Taurani’s Diwali party in Mumbai. Shehnaaz took to Instagram after meeting Vicky and posted photos of the two posing together. She had written in her caption, “Hun bani na gal… 2 punjabi ek frame vch (Two Punjabis in one frame, now that’s something).” Vicky re-posted the photos on Instagram Stories.
Shehnaaz previously discussed being compared to Katrina in an interview with Yashraj Mukhate on his YouTube channel earlier this year. Shehnaaz stated, “When my mother took me to the parlour when I was a child, they would say, ‘Oh, your daughter looks like Katrina.’ But now I’m India’s Shehnaaz Gill, and Katrina Kaif is Punjab’s Katrina Kaif. Do you understand how? Vicky Kaushal is her husband, but where is he from?”
