Guneet Monga is set to marry her beau Sunny Kapoor on Monday. On the eve of her wedding, the filmmaker hosted a cocktail party for her friends and colleagues in Mumbai on Sunday. The party was attended by everyone from her fellow filmmakers like Karan Johar, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Ekta Kapoor to actors like Vidya Balan, Sonali Bendre, and Neha Dhupia. Guneet, the bride-to-be, was dressed in a silver and gold gown. Sunny Kapoor, her fiance, also wore an indigo sherwani.
Vidya Balan arrived with her husband, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur. She was dressed in a floral saree in black and red. Sonali Bendre arrived with her producer husband Goldie Behl as well. In a simple white kurta salwar, she looked stunning. Sanya Malhotra, who appeared in Guneet’s Pagglait, wore a golden lehenga, while Rhea Chakraborty wore a black and green ensemble. Neena Gupta, who played Pinni in Guneet’s anthology film Zindagi inShort, also attended the event. She was dressed in a bright pink gown. Renuka Shahane and husband Ashutosh Rana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Amrita Puri were also present.
Mouni Roy wore a white saree to the party, while Sayani Gupta wore a black one. Neha Dhupia was also spotted in a creme ensemble. Tahira Kashyap wore a shimmery gown to the party. Both Konkona Sen Sharma and Divya Dutta wore grey sarees, while Patralekhaa and Amrita Puri wore yellow sarees. Sona Mohapatra and Maanvi Gagroo were also dressed in black and grey. Rasika Dugal and Aahana Kumra, both actors, attended the pre-wedding cocktail party with Guneet and Sunny.
Chunky Panday and his wife Bhavana Pandey attended the party. Deepak Dobriyal, Satish Kaushik, Sanjay Kapoor, and Karan Tacker were also present.
Kavi, the Academy Award-winning short film, was executive produced by Guneet. She is also known for her work on The Lunchbox, Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 1, Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2, Peddlers, Mickey Virus, Masaan, Zubaan, and Pagglait. She adores Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and her wedding card was inspired by the film.
It includes elements such as a train, sarson ke khet, and two hands clasped together. She recently shared a lengthy note in which she expressed her desire for a love story similar to that of Raj and Simran in the film.
