Comedian Bharti Singh was moved to tears once when actor Shah Rukh Khan dressed up as her popular child character, Lalli. Shah Rukh Khan appeared as a guest on Comedy Nights Bachao in 2016 to promote his film Fan. During the show, Bharti asked the actor to perform as Lalli alongside her.
Shah Rukh Khan agreed to wear a wig and a pink dress over his suit for the performance. Bharti then instructed him to keep his hands on his waist, jump up and down, and laugh. Shah Rukh agreed and repeated everything she said after her. Bharti thanked Shah Rukh as the audience applauded and laughed.
Looking down at his outfit, the actor continued, “Pehle hi log jo hai samajhte nahi hai ki main macho hero hoon ki main macho hero hoon. People do not consider me a macho hero. The little that was left ended after watching this).” Bharti looked at him, cried, and hugged Shah Rukh. “Thank you,” he said, kissing her hands.
Bharti then told him that Lalli was one of the first characters she played, and Shah Rukh confirmed that he remembered that. She went on to say, “Shayad, jitna sir, aapne kardiya aaj tab itna hit nahi hua (It was probably not such a hit then than how you made it now). Thank you incredibly much.” “Don’t do this,” he said as Bharti sobbed and hugged him again.
